Congratulations on your graduation!
Graduating from U of T is something you should be very proud of; something you may want to highlight to potential employers, or to make known to the other 500,000+ members of the alumni network. That’s why we are providing you with a new email address that reflects your transition from student to alumnus. This will also help the University stay in touch with you, and keep you informed of all the great opportunities and privileges associated with being a U of T graduate.
Please note that the UTmail+ Alumni E-mail service is currently only available to students who convocated in Summer 2012 and onward. Alumni who graduated before Summer 2012 will not be offered the new Alumni service at this time; however the service will become available in the future. Stay tuned for more details about the expansion of the service to all Alumni. In the interim, service will not be changed or disrupted for graduates with convocation dating before Summer 2012.
What happens now?
Your current student email address ending will change to @alum.utoronto.ca. Continue to access your alumni account with your UTORid and password. Messages sent to your current student email account will be forwarded to your alumni account to allow you to alert your contacts. This means that if you were email@example.com you can now receive email directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What happens to my O365 License?
If you acquired a FREE O365 license at U of T while you were a student; your license will now expire. You will be prompted by Microsoft to purchase a new license that is separate from your U of T affiliation.
In order to ensure your alumni email account is properly enabled please follow these instructions:
- Current UTmail+ account holder: no action required, login as usual and enjoy the service.
- If you do not want an University of Toronto email account, please contact the Information Commons Help Desk.
